WHAT IS AQUEOUS PRO?

As learnt in a previous lesson AqueousPro™ is a professional grade Water Sanitiser used to purify drinking water from contamination that can occur in water tanks and similar applications.

A Pristine Water Systems trained water technician(s) (you) applies AqueousPro™ 50 into a clients wanter tank/s to ensure the drinking water our client receives is free of harmful microorganisms that cause illness and reduce the quality of the consumable water.

AqueousPro™ requires a little bit of time to work its why through a clients property so in this lesson we will cover how to correctly inform clients on how to perform a self test using AqueousPro ™ Test Strips.

WHY DO CLIENTS NEED TO TEST THEIR WATER?

AqueousPro™s key ingredient (Hydrogen Peroxide) requires a bit of time to work it way through the clients water pipes. This process can take up to 24 hours to reach its maximum efficiency which unfortunately PWS franchisees and employees don't have the time for. Pristine Water Systems Australia has developed a tool for franchisees and employee to give to clients so that they can do the testing on behalf of PWS.

The process involves water being drawn from the water tank and tested using AqueousPro™ Test Strips to confirm that AqueousPro™ has made its way through the pipe work. The client is then asked to turn on all outlets/taps for a period of time allowing Aqueous Pro™ to fill every pipe on the property. The water containing AqueousPro™ is then held in the pipework for a minimum of 4 hours but preferably closer to the 24 hour mark. After the period of time is lapsed the client is then asked to run all outlets/taps again and retest the water to confirm AqueousPro™ has sanitised the pipes.

INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN TO CLIENTS

Below is a step by step guide on what is asked of the client. These steps are the same steps a PWS Franchisee or employee would perform if the testing is required to be completed by them. These steps are provided in a PWSA branded brochure which will be explained a little later on.

DAY OF SERVICE - CONFIRM AQUEOUSPRO™ 50 IS EFFECTIVE

STEP 1. Open all internal and external water outlets: (taps, faucets, mixers, showers etc) in each room and run for a few minutes* to draw freshly sanitised water from the water tank, through your pump and into all pipework throughout the property.

*NB: Tap run times may vary depending on distance water travels from tank to tap

STEP 2. Confirm sanitiser is present in pipework: Dip one test strip into the water sample for approx. 2 seconds and remove. Wait 30 seconds and then hold the test strip next to colour chart below, then read your results.

STEP 3. Ensure that colour concentration is between 10 ppm and 25 ppm to confirm adequate residual level of sanitiser is present within the pipework of your water supply system.

Allow adequate contact time for optimal sanitisationAqueousPro™ requires 4 hours contact time through your pipework to effectively destroy bacteria and biofilm build-up. Don’t drink the water during this time period.

24-HOURS AFTER SERVICE

AqueousPro™ activation continues to occur. Destroying bacteria and will decontaminate biofilm built up within the water pipework of your property. To confirm AqueousPro™ has effectively sanitised your water supply system, test again using the following procedure:

STEP 4. Post Treatment Test: Run water from the furtherest outlet/tap from the water tank and retest using the instructions as per step 2. above. The ideal test result will show a concentration of 5-15 ppm concentration.

High biofilm/bacteria build up: In the case of serious bioflim growth contained within the pipework, you may expect some detached biofilm to pass through the water outlets until the pipes are clear. Generally, this will clear your tap aerator(s)/nozzles and/or shower head(s) as needed.

Low test results: If the test strips reads less than 5 ppm after 24 hours, please contact your local PWS water technician for further advice.

Storage conditions of test strips: Avoid touching test pad or exposing the test strips to sunlight and moisture. Store opened containers in a cool (but not refrigerated), dark, dry place. Remove only as many strips as are required and seal bag immediately. Use or dispose correctly. Test strips can be disposed as normal trash waste.

Water Supply Management Plan: Ensure that your Rainwater System Management Plan is updated and includes this service / treatment in accordance with local, state and national requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

Once the water tank has been throughly cleaned and sanitised using the correct dosage learnt in lessons prior, the customer needs to be informed of their obligations to complete the last step of the PWS QuadClean™ process. During this step the client must given the POST TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS and the required amount of test strips to fully test the entire property. Clients must also be made aware of the following:

Why they need to run each individual tap/outlet that is connected to the water tank
How quickly the need to perform the tests and what happens if the test isn't completed
What are the benefits of Aqueous Pro™
How often should the clients water tank be redosed with Aqueous Pro™ 7.9
What will happen if the client doesn't perform the necessary tests at all
Inform client that Aqueous Pro™ is only plays one part in keeping the water clean. A PWS UV System will cover the whole house year round
Note down on the invoice and PODAC the:
Volume AqueousPro™ was used
Size of the water tank
Volume of water inside the water tank
Time taken for aeration / filtration

This brochure contains all the relevant information a client may need to perform the task of sanitising the pipes. Safety and advertisement of other PWS services and products can also be found on the brochure. The brochure also contains a spot to place the required amount of AqueousPro™ Test Strips. Both the brochure and test strips are available to purchase through the PWS PODAC ordering system.

As explained before, a client must receive this brochure and the required test strips. If a client is not available a email/text message or phone call must be made explaining where the brochure was left (in a secure location) and how to perform the task.

PROCESS SUMMARISED:

Clean the clients water tank to the PWS standards
Filter or aerate water with either a QuadClean™ Aeration Unit or a Azud Filter
Sanitise the the water using AqueousPro™50 while filtering / aerating
Test the clients water tank using AqueousPro™ Test Strips ensuring that it contains a minimum of 20 ppm
Top up if required using the PWSA Quick Reference Guide found in the PWS vehicle
Document the PPM obtained in the water tank
Provide the client with PWSA Post Treatment Instructions Brochure and required amount of test strips for the clients property
Answer any questions the client may have about the process
Document the required volumes applied and PPM result at initial tank test on the invoice and in PODAC / ITF
